I hope you guys enjoy both versions :) Have a great Tuesday :)
Hello guys! So, I don't know how many of you have ever heard of the song I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers. It's a great, funny, up beat song. I first heard it in a YouTube video a guy made for his fiancee (I'll post that below, too). However, recently (like yesterday) I came across another arraignment by Jay James, a UK X Factor contestant. I thought his arraignment was pretty cool. He gave the song another meaning completely, and I can relate better to his version. His song has a slower beat, it is more melancholy, and more pensive. I really quite enjoyed it. I hope you guys enjoy both versions :) Have a great Tuesday :)

For people who watched the new movie Inside Out, you already saw and heard and short film before the start of the movie. It was a super cute short film. I think people really liked it. I can't say much, or else I'll give the video away. I haven't found a clip on youtube that shows it well, but I do have the music and I'll post it down below for you to hear it. I think it was a very sweet film, and the music made it even better. Without further ado, I'll leave you with this wonderful song. I hope you guys have a wonderful start of the week!!! :) What traffic light reflects your life right now?
Yellow. You know that feeling you get when you are driving near a traffic light, and suddenly it turns yellow. You don't know weather to go a little faster or to slow down and stop. Eventually you decide on one, and that's it. You either stay behind or passed it. That's what I feel right now. When I decide to stay behind and stop, it's usually because I am feeling calm and not in any hurry (sometimes I am trying to be late on purpose :p). When I stay behind, I feel that I want to take a breather (is that a word?), and be safe. In real life, I think I wish to do the same with some of my decisions, because I don't want to mess up. So, I try to take it as slow as I can, to postpone the decision, in order to look at all my options (or so I tell myself). When I decide to speed up, it's usually happens because I am in a hurry, irritated, or just not in the mood to negotiate. When I speed up, I feel that I am advancing against other, that I am moving forward while the others are left behind. I sometimes feel the same way towards life, you know. You want to be successful. You want to be the top best. You need to be fast and furious. Sometimes I like that feeling, but I get tired of it pretty quickly. I think that I am 70:30 in slow down:speed up. I enjoy being on top of things, and being able to be thought of as competent. But to tell you the truth, if you speed up and crash, that's the end. I am not saying I should not encourage myself to take risk, but I am just not the person conformable doing that. That is one aspect about myself that I am trying to improve. I am trying to step out of my comfort zone. Not to the extent where I completely change my personality, but to the extend that I feel comfortable I won't kill myself. I think it's working little my little. I hope one day to be able to create a balance between my goals and my fears. So tell me, what traffic light best describes you? Have a great start of the week everybody :) What color do you feel like today? I think I always feel like the color green (unless I'm stressed out or frustrated). I always feel like I should be peaceful, open, clam, and ready for any change. I feel like I should be nothing, and therefore become everything (line nature). The color green is the best color and most beautiful color for me. I think the color green represents purity, nature, thoughtfulness, and all that is good and has self control. Earth colors are always (for me) so beautiful and simple. I think it is because of their simplicity that I like them. Green, brown, blue, black, opaque yellow/pink, the colors of a sunset. The opaque and simple color is what is attractive to me. Why? I have no idea :p Seeing a color makes you feel things (I think that's kind of weird and funny). Earth colors make me feel like the piece of Paul Seneville - Mariage D'Amour. I finally uploaded my video. I hope you guys like it :) So, tell me, what color do you feel like today and everyday? Tell me in the comments below :) Today I am going to write about another genre of music that I like: kpop. Korean pop is a very addicting, different, innocent to not-so-innocent content, found in great quantity, and known all over the world. There are tons of groups. In korean, the music industry is actually a big business. They train the people who will be performing for years, until they debut with a company. And this company basically own them. But, to leave that aside, there are many groups who especially in singing, dancing, rapping, etc. My very, very, very, very favorite guy is Jung Yong Hwa. He is the lead singer/leader of the band CNBlue which is composed of other three members: Min Hyuk (drums), Jung Shin (bass guitarist), Jong-hyun (guitar). Jung Yong Hwa is the best, because of his charisma and he has a very chill-responsible personality. He is great at concerts, because of his ability to perform, to connect to people, and to show his vulnerability. Yong Hwa is also a great composer, since he makes majority of their music. That is also another reason why I like this band. Majority of kpop groups simply follow the script (and do a lot of dancing) from their company, but CNBlue is a lot more independent, and they sing (actually sing) their songs and compose them. I'll post links down below to some of their great songs. Yong Hwa has also gone solo, and he has perform some dramas, too (Heartstrings :):):) Although I don't understand korean, I really like listening to kpop, because the music is catchy (is that a word?) and different (more innocent). I hope you guys get the chance to listen to some. I'll post more types of kpop artists I listen to in other post in the future. But for now, Fighting CNBlue!! Have a great-almost-Friday-Weekend day :) Hello, hello! :) Today I would like introduce Mattia Cupelli. He is a pianist and composer. His music is very much to my liking, especially his piano solos. I like the dark tone colors of the majority of his pieces, and how they have a very nostalgic feel about them. I really like sad songs (don't get me wrong - it's not that I am sad, but I can relate to this feeling a lot). I will post below the link to one of his videos that I enjoy listening to. Coming back to the sad topic, I was thinking and talking the other day about what you like to listen to when you feel happy or sad. From what I got, most people like to listen to happy songs when they are feeling down. I am the opposite. When I am feeling sad or without energy, I like to listen to songs that represent the feeling that I am feeling at the moment. I think I prefer to get my feelings out, to understand what I am feeling, why am I feeling like that, in order to alleviate myself. I like to experience my feelings in full and not forget about them, because it allows me to move on faster (and so that I don't hold any residue feelings inside myself). It allows me to purge myself, I guess, of my feelings. The same thing applies when I am happy. That is also one of the reasons I like to write. When I write about my fears, my happiness, my doubts, etc. I feel relieved. Since I am not really a talkative person, I tell my writing everything. It's a good feeling. What about you? What do you like to do when you are sad or happy? Feel free to share. I would love to read about it! :) Have an awesome day :) Which one do you prefer?
I personally like sunsets more :) For some odd reason I think the colors during a sunset are more opaque and vivid in contrast to the sunrise's colors. During a sunset I see a very pretty orange that starts forming. This orange turns into a dark, soft color, and then you can see the beautiful pink start to form. The pink gets intermingled with the orange and the combination creates a every serene tone that gradually turns darker. And then, right before the sun goes out, the rays of sunlight can sometimes be seen. I find the end of the day to be a great time. I like the morning, too, don't get me wrong, but the end of the day has a magic to it. Since I am a morning person, tend to start early and I like to finish my work efficiently and quickly as possible. Why? Because I like to have my free time at the end of the day to do things that I like, or relax, or simply spend time watching a beautiful work of art taking place in the sky. The sunset reminds me of all of the work I did during the day. The sunset reminds me of how much I did, and of how I have become a better person in one day, because of the work I've done. The sunset reminds me to take a deep breath and enjoy the little things that are truly important in life. The sunset reminds me to pause, appreciate, be grateful for another wonderful day, and to love. So, what is your favorite? :) Have a wonderful week :) Hello guys! :) So I decided to use the same format for the "To Be or Not to Be?" famous quote, but change up a bit. I hope you guys find it interesting, and if you have any other ideas don't forget to comment!
And one more thing: Happy Father's Day!!!!! A big applause for all the fathers out there who have diligently cared for their families, and everyday work hard to create a better future for the ones they love. Kudos to all fathers :) Here's a link to an awesome, emotional video to share: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai-ScweVNiE To Love or Not to Love? To love, or not to love, that is the question: Whether it’s nobler for the heart to give The smiles and tears of infinite desires, Or to lock the treasure box of life, And by isolation, not suffer. To detach, to seclude-- No more, and by seclusion to say we end The heart-ache and the disappointments of life That flesh is heir to; it’s a consummation Devoutly to be wished. To detach, to seclude-- To seclude, perchance to die alone- ay, there’s the rub, For in that seclusion what hardships may come, When we need friendship and help, Must give us pause; there’s the respect That makes calamity of so long life: For who would bear to lose his heart, To unknown people, to selfish people, To feelings of anger, to life’s sorrow, To unworthy eyes, and to devilish angels When he himself might prevent this With a heart of iron; who would lose his tune, To never sing and dance a happy life, But that the dread of isolation, The enormous empty space, from whose darkness No mortal can profit, nor enjoy, And makes us rather give of ourselves, Than die from our own rusty, confined feelings? Thus desire does make vulnerable all of humanity, And thus the native thought of reservation Is sicklied with the dread of loneliness, And feelings of longing and tenderness With images of warmth and comfort Take the place of fear, And gain the heart of others.—Soft you now, The fair man. Listen, in your heart Be all my feelings felt. Hi guys! So, not two days ago I heard a wonderful piece by the French composer Paul Seneville. His piece is titled Mariage d'Amour, and it is such a beautiful piece. It is the type of song you can listen to at a calm bar, with a very romantic and just sweet melody to sit and stare at the nothingness.
I immediately told myself I needed to learn this :) So I went through google searching for it (you know) and I found it. I am in the process of learning it, and hopefully I'll be able to post a video soon. Meanwhile I am putting the link to the video down below, so that you may enrich yourself with this wonderful piece. I was very glad to have found this piece, because I was getting tired of the same old, same old. I usually find the greatest pieces from composers I don't even know about. Paul Seneville is an unusual composer, whose first careers were not even related to music. He was one of those persons who found his calling later own, and pursued it. Glad he did :) Before I end my blog for today, I would like to leave you with a thought to ponder on this weekend. Write down (actually write down!) three realistic goals you would like to achieve in your lifetime. It can be short or long term goals (or a combination of both). But seriously think about it, and write them down. Follow them. Remember them. Achieve them. You'll be amazed at what you are capable of doing :) Use the song for inspiration. Have a great Friday :) Perception.
What is perception? One definition, according to Merriam-Webster, is the way you think about or understand someone or something. That’s simple, I guess. But is it? I mean, there are so many misunderstandings in this world that happen everyday at every hour. In relationships, between siblings, between nations, between religions, and about every single thing can become a misunderstanding. Why? As humans we should have the ability to be perceptive, because seriously, I think it would save us a lot of trouble. The ability to think about and understand someone is one of the important skills very useful for communication. However, apparently, it is a skill many of us lack under stressful situations. Sometimes, when we go to the store or market, we might go to the pay and find ourselves with this horrendous cashier. I mean, she looks like she could have killed someone today. As you dump your groceries, she mindless stares down and mechanically runs them through in less than a second. She doesn't speak a word to you. Her face is swollen, and her hands and hair appear to have been through some oil treatment. “Whatever,” you tell yourself, “she’s a waste of time”. What did you perceive? What you didn't know was that this lady was a hero. She had recently lost her second child to cancer, and her first child had down syndrome problems, for whom she had to pay the doctor for the extra treatments. She was a single mother, since her husband had died in the war about a year ago. She had been fired from her previous job, because of her lack of enthusiasm and work ethic. She barely had time to grab some decent food that evening. What did you perceive? Is the lady worth less than that brilliant soccer player, than that multibillionaire business owner, than your very successful engineering neighbor? Is she less than you? How you perceive people, situations, and places I think has to do a lot with YOUR OWN experiences. I have found that the more I travel, the more I talk to people, the more I see things, the more I learn things, the more I read, basically the more I absorb, the less easily am I to make judgement. I seriously cannot look at people and only see a human body. When I meet someone, I try to understand their essence. Without any judgment. When I visit a new place, I try to keep an open mind, and absorb everything. Just with the simple act of being perceptive, of being aware of the facts, allows me a greater understanding of the MULTIPLE (not two) sides to the story. Expectations most of the time get in the way of our perceptions, and that is where we start formulating these distinct attributes to the subject at hand. Because you expect poor, diminished people to look like the cashier lady, you immediately jump to conclusions. So, what? We shouldn't have expectations? No, I think we should have expectations, but I also think that having compassion will help in our perception. Compassion can be the balance point that can lead to that pause in our minds to allow us to think twice (sometimes more) about what we are really seeing. Step out of your expectations. Step out of your eyes. Step of out of your comfort zone, and start looking for the hidden messages in the sky. Have a great day!!! :) |
