Speaking of doing what is right, It has been some times now where I have this confusion I can't seem to solve. When we speak between friends and coworkers, I find there is always this idea that if you do something outlandish or wrong, you tend to be considered more mature or grown up. It is as if because people know that you are not doing everything right, then they think you are good. It is as if because you also see the bad things that go on in the day, then you are considered normal. Or it is as if because you are not in control enough and do stupid things, then that is considered something anyone does.
Why can't wanting to be good, and honest, and in control not considered normal? What I am trying to say is that when I try to point out that life is perfect, people look at me like at stupid-optimist. I am not actually, but I have learned to be grateful for each day, and that makes me full of energy. Similarly, when I try to say that I don't drink or that I like to eat healthy, people look as if I try too hard to be good and it makes them uncomfortable. But I do have to say that the majority of the time it happens with young adults. Older adults actually seem to appreciate my behaviors.
I don't know what it is or if maybe I am imagining it, but one thing is for sure: I am not going to change. I like working towards being good. I like trying my best to make life happy. I like to think that the world is a good place. I know the reality (or at least, the reality that society creates), but that won't stop me from being a stupid-optimist sometimes.
I think trying to be good should be the popular theme of life. What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts with me :) I hope you guys have a great week, and remember today is a blessing :)
