How many times does that ever happen in real life? How many times do we leave ourselves to accumulate dust in our thoughts, emotions, actions, and spirit? I never really thought about it, but now I realize the importance of meditation. Really any kind of self-reflecting technique is helpful in our daily lives. Our lives are filled with so many THINGS! It can be overwhelming and the traces of each day accumulate in our minds to clutter us and make us egocentric.
I have found it helpful to send at least five minutes (yes, five minutes can be a savior!) just doing nothing. Feeling that things slow down and reflecting on your actions of the day can create a soothing atmosphere. Writing down my thoughts is also very helpful. After I have written down my thoughts I feel more empty and ready to start again. I have to dust off the trials of everyday, or else I feel too stuffed to do anything.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed in your life? How do you cope with it? It is good to cope with our problems, but it is important that we do it in a safe and healthy manner. This is why meditation and prayer are helpful. You won't fix your problems by running away from them or forgetting them. That is not the solution. Be brave enough to look at your problems straight in the eyes! Do not hold on to them as if your problems define you. Try your best. Be clever. Let go of things you cannot change. And dust off your problems day by day :)
