"The most common way people give up their power is by thinking that they don't have any" - Alice Walker
It might seem like a simple quote and one that makes common sense, but how many times during the day, the months, and the years, we forget to actually live it?
How many times in the day do you think,
"I don't think doing this exercise going to change anything about my body", or
"I just need to work for the money to survive. I don't have the ability to do something I like", or
"Governments have always been corrupt. My vote and participation won't make a difference", or
"Kids these days are just to rebellious. No point in me interfering" (Doesn't every generation say this?), or
"I never win anything. There is not point in applying for this scholarship"
And there are tons of other excuses and complaints that we make. Excuses and complaints that only show the little confidence and passion that we have in ourselves and others.
I will be sincere with you. Every time I write in this blog, I have some negative thoughts in my head, "Is this really useful? Are my readers going to like it? Am I even good at communicating what I feel? Is the information even relevant? Do I know how to WRITE?!"
I don't have the ability that many others do when it comes to writing and communicating. I have much to learn and experience. But that is why I am here. And because I want to be some type of influence in your life. I want to be an anchor.
I want to be an anchor, so that you can dare to step outside of your comfort zone. Dare to step outside of your comfort zone and use your power for change.
Is this going to be hard? Yes. Is this going to make you feel insecure and vulnerable? Yes. Is this going to feel like the world is falling apart? Yes. But that is why we live. To feel the hardships, the insecurities and vulnerabilities, and to see how the world looks like when it is falling apart. When we have done this, we will know how we need to stitch up the world into a better place. It's experience, man. That's how we get the job, no? Put it on your resume! :)
Don't dare to give up your power this week. BE SOMEONE you are afraid of being :)
Be strong, be unique, and step outside of your comfort zone!
