If you've been listening to music this weekend, you may have heard Ed Sheeran's new album. It is amazing! I love this guy :) He never seizes to impress. This time, his songs have such an array of styles from so many different cultures around the world, and his voice is amazing. I recommend listening to his new album!
I will put only one song down below, "What Do I Know?", for you to take a quick peak. This is such an uplifting song, with great melody, great guitar, and it says you only need a piano to change the world (so, I am happy :)
But, seriously, the main theme of the song is how love can change the world. And I believe it. But, what do I know? There are so many obstacles in life, that many times it seems that such a little petty thing like love can do anything to fix the problems.
Toni Morrison once said, "The fact is it is not yours [the future] for the taking. And it is not whatever you make of it. The future is also what other people make of it, how other people will participate in it and impinge on your experience of it."
You life depends on how you treat others, how others treat you, and how others perceive their life. And the best way to treat others is through love and understanding.
Hatred and division arise from people's fear of the unknown. Love and understanding arise from people's desire to have a conversation and create change.
Your life is going to be affected by how the people around you live. Of course, it is important to focus on your skills, goals, and future, but also understand that the service you provide to society can have an even greater impact on the future. So, strive to be a voice of love and understanding.
Strive to find common ground, not division.
But, what do I know? :)
Be strong, be unique, and step outside of your comfort zone!
