This thought couldn't be complete without a little music, of course :) I have for you a music video down below of a cover from Justin Timberlake of "True Colors". I hope you enjoy listening! It is a melancholy song, actually, but I think it matches very well with the meaning of the song.
Have you ever been afraid to show your true colors? I know I do, actually, many times. But, you know, I think it happens more often with those who are closest to me. Because I am afraid of disappointing those who are closest to me, I tend to bottle up inside all my feelings of insecurity.
I try to always look strong and confident, when in actuality I might be very unsure of my feelings and actions. I like to write to let my feelings and thoughts out of my head, but sometimes it would be much better to actually talk to someone.
To have someone you can talk to without being afraid of judgment or sarcasm is a treasure in your life. And to be someone other people can trust to show their true colors is an amazing service.
So, I am going to give you a task for this week. Your task is to either a) Find the courage to show your true colors to those whom you are most afraid will see you OR b) To become a friend who can help someone in need of a listening ear.
I hope you guys have a great rest of the weekend, and don't let a minute go by without feeling the need to be good, useful, and grateful! Be the best that you can be, and let the world (your world) know your true colors :)
Be strong, be unique, and step out of your comfort zone!
