Let's start this weekend with a little fun sound from the rookie group KARD. Their next released son, "Don't Recall", has a swinging EDM style, with great vocals, rap, and dance moves. It has successfully topped #1 in many charts world wide, so I hope them all the best going forward. I hope you enjoy the song and relax :)
Moving to another thought, Joan Didion once said that "character - the willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life - is the source from which self-respect springs".
Character in society is an important part necessary for continual growth, innovation, and development. Without character, society's culture and values may crumble to pieces, leading to a slow deterioration of our own lifestyle.
When you think about how your own family functions, you realize the importance of building character in the bigger picture that is our society. In a small group family, you have a set of values and rules you follow, or you might have certain rituals or habits, or people have certain assigned responsibilities.
You teach your children to have a certain character and personality, because you want them to be independent, happy, and successful.
Society as a whole must understand this concept as well. Learn to build character in your life, so you can be independent to choose your career. Learn to build character in your life, so you are knowledgeable about the political and economic choices you make. Learn to build character in your life, so you know how to make something of yourself without waiting for a man to change your life.
When you respect yourself as a person, when you respect your abilities and accolades, when you respect your vocation and calling, you are one step closer to respecting who society is with its disasters and happiness.
Society is not a paradise set to glow with light. Society has always been an amalgamation of fear, bravery, greed, destruction, innovation, happiness, and so much more. I don't recall a time when it was all good. Therefore, it is a fortunate that there have always been those in life that have striven for change.
People striven to change for the better. Maybe it was not that they were optimist with a passion for flowers and sparkles, but rather people with character who respected themselves and strove to create that which they were taught growing up: To be good, to be useful, and to be grateful.
Be strong, be unique, and step outside of your comfort zone!
