I live in an urban area (I am guessing like the majority of you), and as such, I am used to the idea of having stars over my head at night, but I had never actually seen them. The trip we took to a small cottage out in the country made me realize of what I was missing out.
We got to the house around five in the afternoon, and it was still sunny outside. We had been tired from the trip, so we took turns taking showers and making delicious food to eat. As the evening turned into night, we played games and had fun talking and watching funny videos. When I went to the window to look outside, all I saw was a depth of black engulfing the small little cottage. We decided to go outside.
As we went farther from the lights of the cottage, we were suddenly enveloped by the light of the stars. It was amazing. I felt so small. We saw red, little Mars and the Big Deeper, and many other things I cannot remember the names of.
The way the stars covered the entirety of the night sky was unbelievable, as if you had taken a black paper and covered it with small silver points, until the black background disappeared. I had never seen so many stars. It truly made me feel small in this expansive universe.
I will always remember this experience, because it reminded me of one thing:
"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars"
We are all stars. We are all waiting to land among the place we ought to be. Whatever it is, don't feel ashamed of it. There are millions of stars in your field, and you can also succeed in it.
Be strong, be unique, and step out of your comfort zone!
