Comedy movies are the best, because I get to release my stress and laugh until my stomach hurts. Another thing that is also helpful to destress is to breathe. Yes, breathing is truly a form of stress relief when you combine it with practices of mindfulness and meditation.
Mindfulness is to be in tuned with the moment and your surroundings. I have been trying to do this for about 3-5 minutes a day. Again, meditation is not something that comes easy to me, but I am practicing. Last week, there was one day when I truly understood the power of mindfulness.
It wasn't a quiet moment. In fact, we were talking and having a conversation quite loudly. But at that moment, I took about three seconds to absorb the people, their expressions, their laughs and shouts, and the seat I was seating on. And I was impressed by the feeling of fulfillment. It was as if I had everything I ever wanted and didn't need for more. A very sweet moment :)
So, if you haven't thought of anything to do this weekend, I recommend listening to Lee Hi's "Breathe". Try to start creating your feeling of mindfulness this weekend and let the song help you get into the mood.
"Breathe" is truly a beautiful song and the lyrics are very relatable (I think to everyone). They ask you to take a moment, don't judge yourself, and simply feel the blessing of being who you are. They ask you to become mindful. To become complete.
I hope you guys have a great weekend and feel free to comment!
