Watching the story of the Brontes made me think about the fantastic mistakes we make in our own life. Many of us wonder through life thinking of all the mistakes we have made and berating ourselves for them.
We think back to our past and see all the little trials and tribulations. Our trials remind us of the mistakes we made when we were angry and spit out hurtful words of disgust to a loved one. We think of the time we lied to make our coworkers jealous of us. We delve into guilt for not having had the courage to take that opportunity. We remind ourselves of the cowardice when we wished ill to a stranger on the street. We feel inferior when we think of our failure to get the product out for a sale. We think of the failure of not being the person others want us to be.
So, tell me, what is the definition of failure? Some will say failure is the lack of success. So, what is definition of success? Some will say success is the accomplishment of one's goals.
Failure in life is when you decide to cease to accomplish your goals. Only then, have you truly failed.
What are your goals in life and how often do you strive to achieve them?
A mistake in your character is simply an indication of a need for growth. A mistake in work is simply an indication of a need for knowledge. A mistake in life is simply an indication of a need for change.
Failures are not mistakes. Mistakes are fantastic, because they have the ability to create change. Change leads to growth and education. Mistakes, really, are just a stepping stone into your next big hit. Mistakes are only failures when you cease to resolve them. So, the solution is simple: Always seek to grow from your mistakes.
What do you need to overcome and resolve these apparent "stepping stones" in life? A Good Attitude
Your attitude in life will determine if your "mistakes" will become failures or successes. You have the power to determine your own outcome.
For me, no matter where I am, no matter who I become, no matter what I do, I will have three goals in life: To be good, to be useful, and to be grateful. My attitude will be the determination of my existence.
What are your goals?
Be strong, be unique, and step outside of your comfort zone!
