Today's quote is one that I have to meditate on every day. I don't know about you, but I tend to complain about things in life. Do you? It is hard to always be grateful and happy, especially when you are in traffic :)
But I believe we can become a little more humane, if we tried to complain less.
When you have been given the opportunity to travel somewhere, spend some time on a project, have the chance to work with a renown expert, or you simply have the talent for a specific skill, should you complain about the work?
According to Brendon, you shouldn't. "When you have the blessing to make a true difference, you don't complain about the effort involved".
When I think about all the people in the world that are in poverty, in war zones, in inhumane situations around the world, it is difficult to think that where I am is a place for me to complain. I can't complain!
I have an incredible life! I can eat. I have the freedom to go outside. I can work. I can study. I am safe. I have the opportunity to grow. And so much more...
Do I have everything I ever wanted, no. But I have everything I NEED. And more. I have the opportunity to inspire children, I have the ability to work to improve the environment, I have the skills to help my family. I I have the blessing to make a difference in my community, in my family, and inside my heart.
But I have to work. I have to work very hard, and it is not going to be easy. So, when I am in these situation, I try to be mindful. I try to feel good and excited about what I do. I try to be grateful. And I do (with some exceptions, here and there :)
Don't complain about the effort involved in trying to run your shop, or working in the office, or taking care of your kids, or doing that weekly house clean up.
Be happy you have something to do. Be happy you can be someone. Be happy you have the ability to perform.
Be strong, be unique, and step outside of your comfort zone!
